Recently I acquired a book, titled, Self-Compassion by Kristen Neff, Ph.D. I thought I knew what this meant… what it really meant was different than my perception. Being honest with myself is turning into one of the hardest self-awareness journeys because self-compassion is not only about being kind and loving to myself and doing so mindfully. For me, self-compassion is mainly about recognizing the moments I’m stuck in over-identification and isolation. I encourage you to discover what self-compassion means for you. Take the brief self-compassion test below, engage in self-awareness and PRACTICE. Simply be. I totally get it, it’s not so simple and that’s why it’s called a PRACTICE.
